Tange Khorram Naz – In every corner of Iran, there are hidden special beauties that by getting to know them better, we discover the astonishing creation of nature more than ever before.
One of the most beautiful and pristine places to visit in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province is the region of Khorram Naz Strait, located amidst mountains, narrow valleys, and dense forests.
Khorram Naz Canyon is situated at the intersection of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province with Fars Province.
Furthermore, the diverse vegetation cover and roaring rivers at the bottom of the valley, along with immense cliffs on both sides, tell the tale of the pristine and beautiful nature of this region. The rich vegetation in this area has attracted various creatures, and rare or endangered animals live there.
At the entrance of the gorge, a clear and roaring river with a turquoise blue color, along with flowers and lush vegetation along the riverbank, captures the attention of tourists. Another characteristic of this tourist attraction is the vast plain filled with trees and beautiful, green nature.
Due to the beauty and abundance of water in this area, every tribe that came to the region settled and expanded their belongings, and over time, the area became known as “Khar-andaz” (expanding settlement). However, the nomads refer to this beautiful valley as “Khormnaz” (pleasant and charming).
The heights overlooking the surrounding landscapes are beautiful and captivating, and from above, the cliffs on both sides of the gorge stand tall, enclosing it.
After about two hours of hiking, we reach a three-way junction where all mountaineers replenish their drinking water from the abundant spring in this area. Of course, like many mountaineers and nature enthusiasts, you can also swim in this natural and beautiful pool.
The beautiful Khormnaz River, originating from the mountains of Kuh-e Kohmar and Kakkan, joins the Bashar River after a distance in an area called Dourud. The Bashar River has abundant water throughout the year. The Tizab Gorge, Boragh Gorge, and Sorkh Gorge have also formed along the course of this river.
The Bashar River is one of the main tributaries of the Karun River. It originates from the southern slopes of the Zagros Mountains and, after flowing south to northwest, passing through the vicinity of Yasuj city and joining other rivers, it takes on the name Karun and continues its flow through the plains of Khuzestan.
